Channel Partners Conference & Expo 2021: An Interview with Blake Wetzel

TeraGo is excited to make its first in-person appearance at the 2021 Channel Partners Conference and Expo. From November 1st– 4th 2021, the Expo will take place at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.

For nearly 25 years, Channel Partners has helped people unleash the potential of the Channel and has been the leader in building relationships as well as showcasing the latest on industry trends and solutions. We sat down with Blake Wetzel, Chief Operating Officer & Chief Revenue Officer, to discuss what to expect at this year’s Channel Partners Conference, and a little bit more on what he will be presenting.

Q: What are you excited for the most at this year’s conference?

A: I have a dear respect and affection for this community, and it’ll be nice to see people that I haven’t seen in a very long time because of COVID and re-establish those relationships and connect with some of the best in the industry.

Q: What can we expect?

A: To see a community that’s going to come together and understand where COVID has brought us, the new evolutions of where technology is, and where we are going to go with it. That is a big reason on why TeraGo is going to be there. Being able to see organizations and developments come to life, that you probably wouldn’t be able to see sitting at home or in front of a computer. It is inspiring to see some of the eco-systems that are coming out of these new technologies and their markets.

Q: What does the Channel community mean to you?

A: I have a soft spot in my heart for the Channel community for a lot of reasons. Mainly one being that there are a lot of quality people at the event, and they’re great at building relationships. They’re good in their interactions with their customers, their providers, and it’s a great way of learning what’s going on in the industry.

In my mind, the Channel first and foremost is focused on their customers and that is the kind of nature of who I am as a person and who TeraGo is as a company. Being around people who care about customers and trying to solve customer problems, trying to help them get to the resolutions that they need is very important to me. I’m a very big advocate of the Channel community and I look forward to seeing them all.

Q: What are your best memories from previous Channel Partners events?

A: The best memories I have are sitting down and sharing a cup of coffee with partners and catching up with people that you haven’t seen in a while. Being able to foster new opportunities together that benefit both themselves plus their customers. I think all the collaboration and interactions inside the halls of the event centre, demonstrate the power of this community.

Q: Tell us more about your theatre session and what you will be presenting.

A: I’m energized about the big wave of what 5G will bring in transformational technology in the next two to three years. It is the combination of 5G, edge computing, and what enterprises are going to do with this technology and how they will bring those platforms together. How do you change how enterprises envision technology impacting their businesses? They could improve energy efficiency; they can improve productivity; they can improve how data and information are used to transform their businesses. Being able to walk into an enterprise and demonstrate value in what these technologies are going to mean to the enterprise in the next 5 to 10 years, it’s going to be transformational, and I am excited to go into detail about it during my theatre session.

You can catch Blake’s presentation on “5G and Private Networks: The Future of Enterprise Networking with TeraGo,” on Tuesday, November 2, at 4:20pm – 4:40pm in the Mandalay Bay Convention Hall, Level 1, Bayside B, Booth #1053.
